Home mirrors and wall mirrors are not the same install
Raleigh gives us both ends of this work. In houses it is vanity mirrors, hall and dining mirrors, and the occasional shaped piece to suit an older room. In gyms, studios and finished basements it is full mirror walls, which is a different install: multiple panels sized so the seams land where they are least visible, and fixings chosen for the wall behind rather than for convenience.
Older houses inside the Beltline add one more wrinkle. Plaster walls and out-of-square corners mean a stock rectangle in a corner will show a gap along one edge. Scribing the piece to the wall is the fix, and it has to be decided at measure, not on the day.

How do you remove the old builder mirror?
Carefully, and with the wall in mind. Large builder mirrors are usually stuck to the drywall with construction adhesive, which grips harder than the paper face of the drywall does, so some wall damage behind the mirror is common and we plan for it rather than being surprised by it. We size the replacement so it covers the footprint of the old one wherever we can.
